The purchase of the Prinoth Bison grooming machine is a major milestone for trail quality at Kelowna Nordic.

While we were genuinely disappointed to learn that our capital
equipment Gaming Grant application was not successful, your Board
responded with care, diligence, and determination. The Board held a
special meeting to review the club’s financial position, assess risks, and
explore responsible options that would protect both short‑term
operations and long‑term sustainability.
Thanks to strong financial oversight, the sale of older equipment,
prudent use of reserves, and—most importantly—the remarkable
generosity of our members, donors, and community partners through
the Groomer and Snowflake campaigns, the Board made the confident
decision to proceed with the purchase of the Prinoth Bison XC 4.3m
groomer.
This decision reflects the Board’s shared belief that reliable grooming is
central to member experience, safety, and future growth. Purchasing the
groomer now also results in significant long‑term savings compared to
continued rental, while securing consistent trail quality for years to
come.
Join us for a special celebration of this achievement — January 25
To celebrate the purchase of the groomer (which will be on display),
recognize past presidents and donors, thank our incredible volunteers,
meet and talk with Board members, and celebrate our wonderful winter
facilities, Kelowna Nordic will host a Kelowna Nordic Festival.
Sunday, January 25, 2026
Starting at 12:00 noon
Kelowna Nordic Main Cabin
This will be a relaxed, welcoming opportunity to connect, celebrate, and
enjoy winter together.
Thank you, Kelowna Nordic community
The strength of Kelowna Nordic lies in its people. Your enthusiasm, support, and belief in the club continue to move us forward. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! Your unwavering trust and steady support have turned our dream of buying a new grooming machine into reality.
