The new Grooming Schedule is up for the upcoming 2024-2025 season. The intention is to groom all designated trails on Saturday and Sunday subject to conditions.

A subset of trails will be groomed during the week according to the schedule on the Grooming Schedule page.

Always consult the Nordic Pulse Grooming Report for up-to-date grooming.

The decision to groom only a subset of the trails during the weekdays is based on the revenues generated by annual memberships and day passes sold vs the costs of running our grooming machine. More memberships and we will be able to groom trails more frequently. Its that simple.

Kelowna Nordic President’s Report Dec. 17, 2024:

WE ARE GROOMING USING THE BIG MACHINES!  As of today, Kelowna Nordic has 10cm of new snow.  More snow is in the forecast. Kelowna Nordic is quickly moving from early season conditions to our usual wonderful winter trails.  Lower trails and trails over boggy areas still may be early season condition, but we are having a wonderful start to the year.

Also, today, many volunteers are removing fallen trees from both Snowshoe and Ski trails.  Many of our ski trails are now being groomed by our Pisten Bully machines.  Tomorrow we should be able to see a huge improvement to those trails.  Check conditions on Nordic Pulse for the most up to date trail grooming reports.

It is only fair that all users contribute to the costs to keep Kelowna Nordic operating.  This year, volunteers will be politely asking both snowshoers and skiers for proof that trails fees are paid, at all entrances and on all trails.  The checking will be random, and consistent.   Members, please wear your season’s pass.  Day users, please have your proof of purchase with you.

The reason for checking for payment is to ensure that everyone using our trails is contributing to cover the cost of the running of our club. Checking for those who do not pay will keep costs reasonable for members and day users who do pay.

Just a couple of examples of our costs:

·      the cost of clearing the main parking lot just once is equivalent to the amount the club receives for one adult ski membership, $200.  This does not include the Summit and Kallis lots.

·      Each hour that a groomer is in operation costs the club much more than it receives for an adult ski membership.

Paying is easy: Online, by Phone at a Kiosk or by Cash in envelopes provided.  If you are paying cash, please take a photo of the envelope for proof of purchase.

Our season has started.  Enjoy our facilities. See you on the trails.

And very importantly: “Let it Snow, let it snow, let it snow!”
