The conditions at Kelowna Nordic today were actually better than forecasted in the morning. The rain stopped before the 10 am Masters lessons but the rising temperatures during today and forecasted warm weather over the next few days means that we will be suspending grooming for next few days.

The soft snow simply will not hold the weight of the groomer and any attempt at grooming will do more damage than good. We will update the grooming status on the front page banner and on the grooming report as conditions change (hopefully for the better.)

The moon didn't appear but we had nineteen participants show up for a great snowshoe at night. We anticipated rain but we had a wonderful evening with two separate trips lead by Mary Ann and Alexander.

Each trip took the participants about ninety minutes to complete with distances of 3.7 to 4 km respectively.

The trails are different once the sun goes down and I highly recommend a trip at night!

The shorter 3.7 route was signed earlier that day by Michael and Annalee and we plan on leaving the white and red poles in place until after the February 24th Moonlight Snowshoe and Ski.

Note the green signs will be removed and then put back up for the February Moonlight Event

If you were a participant in the January Masters Social Lessons then this applies to you!

Sunday, February 4th will be the make up day for any days you missed in January. You will be with the same instructors and same group you were with in January so that the lessons can continue where you left off.

Participants starting with the February lessons will be separate groups.

See you on Sunday!
