We are thrilled to announce that Stride & Glide for KGH is returning for its fourth iteration on Saturday, February 10th, 2024 - and registration is now open!

​

"Funds raised this year will be put towards an Intra-aortic Balloon Pump that is required to support Cardiac patients who have a depressed or failing heart function, or to support higher-risk cardiac procedures."

​

After the resounding success of the first three events, raising a total of over $150,000, Kelowna Nordic is aiming to take the event to a new level and raise much-needed funds for cardiac care at Kelowna General Hospital. So, wax your skis, strap on your snowshoes, and join us in making an impact on regional cardiac care!

Registration is $20.

 

The event will take place on Saturday, February 10th, and will include distances of 10, 15 and 20km for cross-country skiing, and 5 and 10km for snowshoeing. Note that the specific routes for the ski and snowshoe will be published closer to the event so check back here for route details at the beginning of February.

 

Following the event there will be a barbeque, and prizes will be awarded. We have prize draws for those who raise over $100, $500 and 1,000 intervals as well as prizes for the most funds raised by teams of six.

 

There will also be a fun prize for the best dressed team of six who raise over $500 – all Vikings, tutus and funky costumes are welcome!

• 8:30 AM: Registration and package pickup

• 9:15 AM: Mass start for 20Km classic and skate skiers and 10 Km snowshoe.

• 10:00 AM: Mass start for 10 and 15km classic and skate skiers and 5 km snowshoe.

• 12 PM to 2 PM: Lunch at Main Cabin, Bratwurst and Beer.

• 1:30 PM: Prizes drawn for all the fundraisers, top teams, and top fundraisers.

Kelowna Nordic Hosts will lead groups that want to ski or snowshoe at a more social pace at 10 AM. Routes will be marked and maps will be available for those that want to ski and snowshoe on their own or with a team.
